WOMEN'S SOCCER WRAP UP REGULAR SEASON WITH WIN OVER RMC

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team finished off their regular with a dominant 3-0 win against the RMC Paladins on Sunday (Oct. 22) afternoon at Varsity Stadium.

With the win, the Blues finished the season in fifth place with 20 points in the OUA East.

In the first half the Blues showed their strength immediately. They had many scoring chances right off the bat but were stopped by RMC goalie Sarah Crowley. The Blues effort paid off in the 16th minute with a goal from Hannah Anderson.

In the second half, the Blues continued to dominate, and with 15 minutes to play, rookie midfielder Georgia Goldsworthy broke through the RMC defence and extended the Blues lead. Beatrice Audain added the insurance marker for the Blues a few minutes later.

Blues goalies Maria Godoy-Atrash and Santana Ferreira split the net in the game, with Godoy-Atrash recording one save. With the shutout, the Blues have not conceded a goal in four consecutive games.

The Blues quickly return to action on Wednesday, October 25 when they travel to Ottawa, Ont. to face the Carleton Ravens in the OUA Playoff. The game will be streamed live and on-demand via oua.tv
