TORONTO WRAP UP PRESEASON AT MCGILL BASKETBALL CLASSIC

In their last set of preseason games, the Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team travelled to Montreal, Que. to attend the McGill Basketball Classic from Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22. 

The Blues opened the tournament on Friday afternoon with a strong 99-70 win over UBC Okanagan. Nadav Sahar and Callum Baker led the team in scoring, with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Baker was also named to the all-tournament team. Anthony Daudu was dominant under the basket grabbing 13 rebounds. 

On Saturday, Toronto faced off with the home team McGill and won 86-65. Baker, Lennart Weber and Dane Quest all stood out this game, recording 22, 19 and 18 points, respectively. Baker also recorded a game-high 10 assists.

On the final day of competition, the Blues fell to Dalhousie 87-77. In his 35 minutes of play, Baker scored 26 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds. Under the basket, Daudu also contributed 12 rebounds in his 36 minutes on the court.

The Blues will next be off to St. Catharines, ON to face the Brock Badgers on Friday, November 3 in their first game of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. The game will be streamed live and on-demand via oua.tv.
