The Varsity Blues men's soccer team beat the Nipissing Lakers 3-1 on Saturday (Oct. 14) afternoon in North Bay, Ont.

The Blues came out hot in the first half, taking the lead just over halfway through with a goal from Michael Maslanka. The rookie forward scored his seventh goal of the season and his second in three games. With five minutes to play, forward Russell Stewart doubled the Blues lead with an incredible shot from the edge of the box.

Early in the second half, Lakers defender Isaac Ajani cut into the Blues lead, but Toronto forward Kingsley Belele sealed the deal for the Blues with a goal of his own in the 77
th minute.Â
