In a defensive stalemate, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues lacrosse team came up just short in a 1-0 loss to the McMaster Marauders on Wednesday (Oct. 11) evening in Hamilton.
Facing off against a tough opponent in the CUFLAÂ West third ranked Marauders, the Blues defence worked hard early as the home side looked to attack quickly.
Not short of opportunities themselves, Toronto finished the night registering 23 shots of their own, including nine in the fourth and final quarter as they made a final push.
However, both goalies were sensational in the mid-week showdown. Toronto goalie Sam Lehman turned aside 27 shots, conceding just one goal through the duration of the match, while Marauders goalie Colin Korry delivered a 28 save shutout.
The Blues will look to spark their offence next welcoming the Guelph Gryphons to Varsity Stadium for Toronto's home finale this Saturday, Oct. 14. Tickets for the home contest scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. are available at
