The Varsity Blues women's soccer team fell to the no. 3 nationally-ranked Queen's Gaels 5-0 on Sunday (Oct.1) afternoon at Varsity Stadium.
The Blues offence was led by first-year forward Natasha Budisa, recording two shots on target.
The match got off to a fast start with the Gaels scoring their first goal from Vita Nahin three minutes into the first half. Sophie Miranda added a goal for the Gaels from the penalty spot in the 21
st minute.
In the second half, the Gaels added to their lead with goals from Seema Sakran, Tatiana Kayrouz and Kendra Couto.
Blues rookie goalie Maria Godoy-Atrash finished the game with four saves.
The Blues continue their home stretch when they host the Laurentian Voyageurs at Varsity Stadium on Saturday, October 7. Kick-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. Tickets for the contest are available at
