The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell 87-68 to the No. 3 Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday (Jan. 21) at Goldring Centre for High-Performance Sport.

Despite the loss, the Blues hold their first-place position in the OUA Central division with a record of 11-5.

TORONTO STATS:Â Second-year forward Lennart Weber led the Blues with 16 points and added five rebounds and three steals.
Third-year standout Callum Baker recorded 14 points for the second-straight night. The Oakville, Ont. native also added five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Fourth-year guard Inaki Alvarez also had 14 points, but added three rebounds and three assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Carrying in their momentum from the night before, the Blues started off strong and held the lead through the entire first quarter (19-17).
However, the Gee-Gees battled back through the second and led 35-32 at the half.
From that point forward, the Gee-Gees held control, finishing the third quarter up 60-48 and eventually, the game 87-68.
UP NEXT:Â The Varsity Blues return to the court on Friday, January 27Â to face off against the Western Mustangs at Goldring Centre for High-Performance Sport. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00pm.Â
