Lindsay Bosveld's two goals and assist lifted the Blues to a 5-3 win over Ontario Tech at Varsity Stadium on Sunday (Sept. 18) afternoon.
The Blues are now 4-0-1 on the season and sit in first place in the OUA East division with 12 points.
Bosveld opened the scoring for the Blues in the 13
th minute. Karly Hellstrom would score two minutes later to extend the Blues lead to two.
The Ridgebacks would cut the Blues lead to one with a goal from Brogyn Tracey ('23). But the Blues would come storming back with fourth-year winger Miranda Badovinac scoring a minute later.
In the 38
th minute, Ridgebacks midfielder Nikita Mohan would score to cut the Blues lead in half. The Blues would regain their two-goal lead heading into the second half with Bosveld's second goal of the game in the 45
th minute.
The Ridgebacks would open the scoring in the second half in the 62
nd minute, with a goal from Brogyn Tracey, her second of the game. Hannah Harkin would finish the scoring for the Blues with a goal in the 67
th minute.
In her first appearance of the season, Blues goalie Addie Babulal finished the game with 11 saves.
Hellstrom and midfielder Yasmeen Al-Kas would also finish the game with two assists each.
The Varsity Blues take the field again on Saturday, September 24 when they faceoff against Trent University in Peterborough. Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
