BLUES VETERANS SHINE IN PRESEASON OPENER

The University of Toronto women's hockey team defeated the York Lions 3-2 in exhibition play at Varsity Arena on Thursday, September 15. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: Third-year forward Lauren MacDonnell opened the scoring for the Blues, finishing fellow third-year forward Natasha Athanasakos' effort on the power play. Athanasakos assisted second-year Ali McKeown for the Blues second goal of the first period.

Fifth-year forward Celine Frappier and McKeown combined for the Blues lone goal of the remaining two periods.

Fifth-year goaltender Madeline Albert had 19 stops in the Blues win.

UP NEXT: The Blues open their home schedule on Thursday, November 3 vs. the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. Puck drop is at 7 P.M.
