The Varsity Blues men's and women's wrestling team will conclude their season this Saturday (Apr. 2) at the 2022 OUA Championships in St. Catherines, Ont.

WOMEN: Leading the way on the women's side will be 2020 OUA silver medalist Rachel Zack. The Toronto, Ont. native is set to compete in the 67kg event this time around after coming in second in the 72kg class in 2020. Zack started the season with a second-place finish in the 76kg class at the McMaster Invitational (Nov. 7) before finishing third in the 72kg event at the Rams Invitational (Nov. 14) and first (72kg) at the York Open (Nov. 21).Â
Joining Zack will be Eleni Bentley, who will be making our OUA championships debut in the 82kg event. The first-year Toronto native most recently placed second at the Western Open (Mar. 13) in the 82kg class.Â
MEN: On the men's side, the four wrestlers will all be making their OUA championships debut.Â
Ketan Nawbatt will be competing in the 65kg event and is coming off a 2nd place finish at the York Open (Nov. 21) and a first-place win at the Brock Open (Feb. 26).
In the 76kg class, Pratham Singh, the Guelph, Ont. native placed third in the 77-82kg event at the Brock Open (Feb. 26).
Hoping to build on recent momentum is Keegan McMartin. The first-year wrestler recently placed third at the Western Open (Mar. 13) in the 82kg class.Â
The Blues will be represented in the 100kg event by mechanical engineering major Samuel Swadron.Â
