Despite not having a competition last year, the Varsity Blues return to the OUA Championship as the three-time defending champions, with their sights set on extending their run to five years in a row.
Back to lead the charge for Toronto are a couple of decorated veterans.
A key component to the epee team, Leanna Lui will battle to defend her individual gold medal from the 2020 OUA championship.
Two-time individual OUA silver medalist, Rebecca Jeffrey will head into her final OUA championship trying to not only guide her team to another team banner, but also capture that elusive individual gold in sabre. Sticking with sabre, the Blues will also have Astrid Chandler and Esther Falkson back in the mix. Jeffrey, Chandler and Falkson made up three-quarters of the Varsity Blues sabre team that won the sabre team gold in 2020. All three of them were also named OUA all-stars.
The Blues foil team will have a pair of returnees for 2022. Coming off of their silver medal team performance in 2020, both Tianxi Hu and Caroline Placko will serve as the veterans this time around for Toronto.
