The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team took a tough 98-53 loss to the Ryerson Rams on Wednesday February, 16 at Mattamy Athletic Centre.
 
TORONTO STATS: The Blues got off to a slow start trailing the Rams 29-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Rams continued their momentum into the second, and pulled away leaving the Blues down 51-18 at the half. By the end of the game, Ryerson secured the win, extending their lead in the fourth to outscore the Blues 98-53.

Third-year guard Ellen Ougrinov led the Blues racking up 17-points, one rebounds and one steal during the game.

First-year forward Jada Poon-Tip also contributed, putting up 13-points, one steal and one assist on the night, while leading the team with nine rebounds. Nicole Chateau also came up with eight points, two assists and four rebounds in the loss.
 
UP NEXT: The Blues are back on Saturday, February 19 for a rematch against the Ryerson Rams at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
