AGBAPU RECORDS DOUBLE-DOUBLE AS RAMS BEST BLUES

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell to the Ryerson Rams 84-79 in the first game of their back-to-back series on Wednesday, February 16 at Mattamy Athletic Centre.
 

TORONTO STATS: The Blues led early, playing strong defence and pulled away from the Rams with a 7-0 run midway through the first, finishing the quarter up 18-13 and ended the half tied 39-39. Into the third, the Blues continued to play well finishing the quarter up 64-61. Despite all efforts, the Blues momentum fell short in the fourth quarter, dropping a heartbreaker 84-79 to the Rams.

The Blues were lead in scoring by second-year guard Anthony Torelli, going 5-for-10 in field goals on the night and went 2-for-2 from behind the arc to lead the Blues with 18-points on the night.

Third-year standout Somachi Agbapu recorded the Blues second double-double of the season securing 14-points and 10 rebounds, respectively, while fourth-year guard Evan Shadkami tallied 11-points.

Second-year guard Inaki Alvarez led the Blues with 6 assists In the loss.
