BLUES LOSE HEARTBREAKER VS LAKERS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell to the Nipissing Lakers 66-65 in the second game of their back-to-back series on Saturday, February 12 at Goldring Centre.

TORONTO STATS:

The Blues offence was off and running through the first-quarter leading the Lakers 21-14 by the buzzer. Although the Lakers found some momentum at the start of the second, the Blues would end the quarter up 39-33. The Blues dominance continued through the third-quarter up 54-46, but ultimately fell 66-65 at the end of the fourth.

Second-year guard Anthony Torelli lead the Blues for the first time this year recording 15-points, two rebounds, and a steal.

Fourth-year guard Evan Shadkami continued to impress after yesterday's performance ending the night with 12-points, four steals and a block, while second-year guard Inaki Alvarez tallied 11-points, four assists and three rebounds.

Second-year forward Anthony Daudu's was the team's rock on defence pulling in seven rebounds and making two blocks.

UP NEXT: The Blues are back next weekend Saturday, February 19 vs. the Rams at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
