The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team beat the TMU Bold 97-90 in overtime on Wednesday (Nov. 9) night at Goldring Centre.
With the win, the Blues sit with a 2-1 record, leaving them tied for first place in the OUA Central division.
HOW IT HAPPENED: After the first quarter, the Bold would hold a three-point lead (26-23). The Bold would extend their lead heading into halftime (43-38) and head into the fourth quarter with the lead (69-62). The Blues would make a big push in the fourth quarter to push the game into overtime (79-79). They would go on to take the game 97-90.
Somachi Agbapu and Anthony Daudu finished the game with double-double, with Agbapu putting up 10 points and rebounds, while Daudu finished the game with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bold were led by guard Aaron Rhooms who finished the game with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Saturday, November 12 when they faceoff against the Laurier Golden Hawks. Tip off is set for 8 p.m. at Goldring Centre.
