The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team beat the Laurier Golden Hawks 67-59 on Saturday (Nov. 12) night at Goldring Centre.

With the win, the Blues now hold a 3-1 record, tied for first in the OUA central division.
HOW IT HAPPENED:Â Â The Blues came out flying in the first quarter taking a commanding 22-8 lead. The Golden Hawks would push back in the second quarter, limiting the Blues to eight points (30-29). The offence was clicking for the Blues in the third quarter, where they would extend their lead to 15 points (56-41). The Blues would close out the game in the fourth quarter (67-59).

Second-year forward Lennart Weber played a massive part for the Blues in their win, putting up a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Forward Anthony Dauda had 13 points and four rebounds for the Blues.Â

Fourth-year and first-year forwards Somachi Agbapu and Noah Ngamba both scored 11 points.Â

The Golden Hawks were led by Ethan Passley who had a game high 17 points, along with two rebounds and two assists. Â
UP NEXT:Â The Varsity Blues return to action Wednesday, November 16 when they face off against the York Lions. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m.
