BLUES FALL SHORT TO NO.2 BROCK BADGERS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team fell, 70-49 to the Brock Badgers on Friday, November 4 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

With the loss, the Blues start their season with an 0-1 record in the OUA East Division.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Blues trailed the Badgers in the first-quarter 9-17. By the half, the Badgers had battled ahead of the Blues 14-36. Through the last half, the Blues fought hard, but ultimately fell to the Badgers 49-70.

Fourth-year guard Ellen Ougrinov led the Blues, with 12-points. The Mississauga, ON. native also had three rebounds and one assist to finish out the first game.

Third-year forward Jennifer Muha was not far behind in points, racking up nine on the night. The Nutritional Sciences major recorded 10 rebounds and one assist in the process. Fellow forward, Jada Poon Tip recorded six points, three assists and two rebounds in the loss.

The Badgers were led by second-year guard, Madalyn Weinert who recorded 15-points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists.

UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Saturday, November 5th when they faceoff against the TMU Bold. Tip off is set for 6:00 p.m.
