The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell, 69-87 to the Brock Badgers on Friday, November 4 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
With the loss, the Blues start their season with an 0-1 record in the OUA East Division.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Blues trailed the Badgers in the first-quarter 16-26. At the half, the Badgers had their lead to 41-25. Throughout the last half, the Blues fought hard, but ultimately fell to the Badgers 69-87.
For the first time this season, third-year guard Inaki Alvarez led the Blues, with 16-points. The Altafulla, Spain native had two rebounds, two assists, and one steal to round out the night.
First-year guard and forward Noah Ngama scored 11 points in his first game with the Blues. He contributed two rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Third-year guard Callum Baker also finished the night in the double digits with 10 points, before being substituted with an injury.
The Badgers were led by Toronto, Ont. native Daniel Caldwell who recorded 14-points, five rebounds and one assists.
UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Saturday, November 5 when they faceoff against the TMU Bold. Tip off is set for 8 p.m. at Mattamy Athletic Centre.
