The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team fell to the Laurentian Voyageurs 74-64 on Saturday (Nov. 26) night in Sudbury, Ont.
With the loss, the Blues are tied for third place in the OUA Central Division, with a 3-5 record.
HOW IT HAPPENED: After a back and forth first quarter, the Voyageurs would edge out the Blues with a six-point lead (18-12). A strong second quarter for the Blues would see them take the lead heading into the second half (34-29). The Voyageurs would reclaim the lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Blues 27-13 (56-47), and would ultimately finish the game with the lead to take the win (74-64).
Third-year forward Lauren Boers led the way for the Varsity Blues with a game-high 19 points, three rebounds and two assists. Forward Jessica Muha recorded a double-double, with 13 points and 10 rebounds, in the loss.
The Voyageurs were led by forward Bailey Tabin who finished the game with 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Friday, December 2 when they face off against Ontario Tech. Tip off is set for 6:00 p.m.
