A Miranda Badovinac first half hat trick helped the University of Toronto women's soccer team to a 5-2 win over Toronto Metropolitan University on Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon at Varsity Stadium.

With the win, the Blues hold an 8-2 record with 24 points. They sit second in the OUA east division, a point behind the Ottawa Gee-Gee's with two games left to play.

HOW IT HAPPENED: TMU opened the scoring early in the game, with a goal five minutes in from Emily Di Natale. The Blues would fire back five minutes later with a goal from Miranda Badovinac. She would get her second of the game in the 27
th minute. Badovinac would finish off her first half hat trick with a goal in the 33
rd minute.Â

TMU would bring it back within one after Ivymae Perez scored in the 35
th minute.

The Blues added to their lead in the second half with goals from Hannah Anderson (74') and Lindsay Bosveld (87').

Goalkeeper Santana Ferreira finished the game with five saves.Â

UP NEXT:Â The Varsity Blues return to action Saturday, October 12th when they faceoff against Laurentian University in Sudbury. Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
