BLUES DROP CONTEST TO WESTERN

The Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team fell 11-6 to the Western Mustangs on Saturday, October 8 in London, Ont.
 
With the loss, the Blues currently hold a 3-4 record in the 2022 CUFLA season. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Mustangs scored the lone goal in the first quarter, with the goal coming from Jack Accursi. The Blues would open the scoring in the second quarter, with back-to-back goals from Davis Bottomley and Aidan Guild. Western would add three goals of their own, with two from Chris Dong and one from Chris da Silva. Bottomley would add his second of the game to finish off the second quarter.
 
Western opened the scoring in the third quarter with goals from Pierson Noble and Jonathan Gagliardi. Bottomley would complete his hat-trick for the Blues. Connor Murphy would add a goal for the Mustangs with a second left in the third quarter. 
 
Scott Del Zotto scored four straight goals for the Mustangs in the fourth quarter. Guld would complete his hat-trick with back-to-back goals.  
 
UP NEXT: The Blues play next on Saturday, October 15 when they face off against the Guelph Gryphons at Varsity Stadium.
