The Varsity Blues began their 2022 OUA championship with a clean sweep of the Ottawa Gee-Gees Saturday afternoon at the Mayfair Club – East.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Winning all three doubles matches, the teams of Rassam Yazdi and Arden D'Aniello, Michael Chu and Kevin Wong, and Nikola Janev and Nathan Li all defeated their Ottawa opponents by scores of 8-5, 8-3 and 8-2 respectively.

In singles action, the Blues continued to roll against the Gee-Gees winning all five matches. Yazdi and D'Aniello were the two Blues that wound up securing victories in both doubles and singles play, with Yazdi winning his match 6-2, 7-5, and D'Aniello winning his contest 6-3, 6-1.
