BLUES SHUT OUT LIONS FOR SECOND WIN OF THE WEEKEND

Box Score The Varsity Blues women's hockey team won 3-0 over the York Lions on Saturday (Oct. 29) afternoon.
 
With the win, the Blues hold a 2-1 record in the 2022 OUA season. 
 
WHAT HAPPENED:  The Blues opened the scoring in the first period with a goal from second-year kinesiology major Emma Potter scoring. The second period remained scoreless after Lions and Blues goalies, Emma Wedgewood and Madeline Albert made key stops for their respective teams.
 
In the third-period, Blues centre Kaitlyn McKnight would score to double the Blues lead. To seal off the victory for the Blues, third-year centre Lauren MacDonnell scored an empty net goal. 
 
UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Thursday, November 3rd when they faceoff against Ontario Tech at Varsity Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
