With four minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Gaels extended their lead to 10 by way of a 17-yard field goal. After 15 minutes of play Queen's led 10-0.

Eager to curb the Gaels momentum, the Blues defence responded setting the tone of the second quarter. Second-year safety Owen Cassie's opened the scoring with a 32-yard pick six, while second-year defensive lineman Parker Williams' sack forced a 10-yard loss to the Gaels just two-minutes later.

The Blues capped off their strong second quarter performance with a stop on their own seven-yard line. Following two quick downs, the Gaels were forced to settle for three points. Toronto trailed by six (13-7) heading into halftime.

On the opening drive of the third quarter, Toronto's first-year kicker Sam Henke narrowed the Gaels lead to three. The Franklin, Tenn. native capped off a 9-play, 71-yard drive with a 16-yard field goal. The Queen's offence responded with a score of their own as first-year running Yann Longa's three-yard rush extended their lead to 10 (20-10). Henke struck again just six minutes later, to make it a one score game.

The Gaels capped off the third quarter with another rushing touchdown to take a 27-13 lead.

The Gaels opened the final frame with a 37-yard field goal by way of rookie Tyler Mullans and, on the ensuing drive, fourth-year Jared Chisari added a 30-yard rushing touchdown. Mullans added one more field goal late in the quarter to secure the 41-13 win for the Gaels.
