The Varsity Blues women's hockey team beat the York Lions 2-0 in an exhibition game on Sunday (Oct. 16) afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Blues opened the scoring late in the first period with a goal from defender Lauren Omoto with two minutes remaining. The Blues doubled their lead with four minutes left in the second period with a goal from second-year forward Katy McKenna. 
 
Kaitlyn McKnight, Kalie Chan, Emma Potter and Maddy Walsh finished the game with an assist each. 
 
UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Saturday, October 22 when they faceoff against Waterloo for their season opener. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
