The Varsity Blues women's soccer team fell to the No. 4 Queen's Gaels 4-1 on Saturday (Oct. 1) afternoon.
The Blues now have a 6-2 record in the 2022 OUA season. They currently sit first in the OUA East division with 18 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Gaels opened the scoring early in the first half, with a penalty goal from Jenna Matsukubo in the first minute. The defending OUA champions would add to their lead in the 29
th minute with a goal from Seema Sakran. In the 42
nd minute, the Gaels would score their third goal from Lily Goss.
The Blues ended first half with a Hannah Chown header off a corner in the 45th minute, to cut into the Gaels lead.
The Gaels would finish the scoring in the game with a goal from Mattie Strickler (66').
Goalkeeper Addie Babulal finished the game with seven saves.
UP NEXT: The Blues return to action on Thursday, October 6 against Toronto Metropolitan University at Downsview Park. Kick off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
