BLUES DOWN RAMS IN TORONTO DARBY

The No. 10 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team kicked off their 2021 season with a 1-0 win over the Rams on Saturday, September 25 at Varsity Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED: A hard-fought first half saw the Blues lead the Rams in every statistical category, but left both teams scoreless. First-year winger Hannah Harkin recorded all three of the Blues shots on goal in the opening half.

The Blues continued their dominance in the second half. Second-year defender Rena Nakajima found fourth-year winger Miranda Badovinac with the through ball for the Blues first goal of the year (64').

Fifth-year goalkeeper, Levanta Staggolis faced zero shots in the contest to secures her first clean sheet of the season.

UP NEXT: The Blues will play their next match Saturday, October 2 at the Rams.
