NO. 2 BLUES CLASH WITH RAMS IN FINAL GAME BEFORE DECEMBER BREAK

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team will play host to the Rams this Friday, December 3 at Varsity Arena.

Puck drop for the Toronto battle is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale here. All spectators will need a ticket and to show proof of vaccination upon entry. The game will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.

Friday's contest will mark the second meeting of the 2021-22 regular season between the two teams. It was on November 19, when the Varsity Blues and Rams had their first match-up, which saw a result that the Blues would be more than happy replicate. Led by two goals from both Abby Howland and Taylor Trussler, Toronto defeated the Rams 4-1.

Pacing the OUA East so far, the Blues have gotten off to a tremendous start securing at least a point in all seven of their games. Already with five regulation wins to go along with one overtime win and a shoot-out loss, Toronto's 18 points are an OUA-high entering the final of week of play in 2021.

The Blues will come into Friday's game against the Rams on the heels of a thrilling come-from-behind overtime victory against York. Already with a two-goal performance against the Rams, Blues forward Taylor Trussler tallied her second two-goal game of the season on November 27 against the Lions when she not only tied the hockey game 1-1 in the third period, but also scored the overtime winner.

Still without a regulation loss, the reigning OUA women's hockey champions can credit their nearly unblemished record to their depth of their team at all positions. Having only surrendered six goals in seven games, the Blues defence and goaltending has been on point. Meanwhile, on offence the Blues feature nine different players already with three or more points, led by fourth-year defenceman, Gabrielle De Serres who has seven points.

The Rams will enter the contest with a record of 3-0-2-0. Their nine points currently has them sitting third in the OUA East behind both Toronto and Nipissing.
