The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team came up short against the Laurentian Voyageurs 71-61 in the second game of their back-to-back on Saturday, November 20 at Laurentian University.
TORONTO STATS:
After being outscored in the first three-quarters, the Blues fourth-quarter saw the team rally back to score 26-points to the Voyageurs 13-points, pulling the Blues within 10-points of the win.
Despite coming off the bench in the first two games of the season, second-year forward Jessica Muha found herself in a starting role on Saturday afternoon. Muha would make good on the opportunity through a double-double performance, leading the Blues with 15-points, 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals.
Second-year guard Lauren Boers continued her form tallying 12 points, three rebounds and one assist, while fellow guard, third-year Ellen Ougrinov had 11-points, two rebounds and five assists on the day.
For the third-straight game, rookie forward Jada Poon-Tip recorded double digit points. Poon-Tip saw 11-points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in the loss.
UP NEXT: The Blues home opener is this Friday, November 26 vs. the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
