The host University of Toronto Varsity Blues are in control of their own fate as Day 1 of the OUA tennis regional qualifier wrapped up on Saturday night at Mayfair Club East.
 
U of T will look to solidify their spot in the OUA final as they wrap up the qualifier versus the York Lions tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m.

The Waterloo Warriors opened the day with a dominant 6-1 victory over the York Lions, winning all three doubles matches and 5-of-6 single matches. Waterloo's Pavle Milic won the closest match versus York's Andres Findlay, 8-7 (7-2) in the No. 1 singles position, while second-year standout Alex Bodor earned the Lions lone point of the match, winning the No. 6 singles match, 8-6.
 
The host Blues went on to edge the Warriors, 4-3, on Saturday night. Michael Chu was Toronto's lone double winner as the commerce major from Richmond, B.C., took the No. 4 singles match 6-3, 6-3 over Waterloo's Eitan Rozin and teamed up with Nikola Janev to win the No. 3 doubles match 8-6.
