BLUES FINISH PRESEASON UNDEFEATED

The University of Toronto women's hockey team capped off their undefeated preseason with a 3-1 win over the York Lions on Saturday, October 30.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Rookie Kalie Chan and second-year Natasha Athanasakos scored within one minute of each other late in the first period to give the Blues a 2-0 lead late.

After a scoreless second period, the Lions got on the board when Sydney Hiltz found Ava Ricker-Singh. The Blues would put the game away when first-year defenceman Francesa Monte put the puck past York goalie Juliana Thomson.

The Blues spilt goaltending duties on this night as Erica Fryer saved six shots, while Madeline Albert would come on in the middle of the second period to finish the game with nine saves. 

UP NEXT: The defending OUA champions will start their regular season on Thursday, November 4 as they travel to take on the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
