BLUES WIN SECOND STRAIGHT OUA TITLE

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's tennis team successfully defended their provincial title with a 4-3 victory over the Western Mustangs in the OUA championship final on Saturday, October 23 in London, Ont.
 
The Blues, who won the OUA regional qualifier two weeks ago, claim their 12th provincial banner in program history.
 
The Blues claimed the lone doubles point, winning the No. 1 and No. 2 matches. Claudia Poluga teamed up with Janet Pham to win the No. 1 doubles match 8-3, while Andrea Kuntjoro and Pia Jhattu took the No. 2 match 8-6.
 
Jhattu also came through with a big singles win in the No. 3 spot, 7-5 (7-2), 6-4, while Winnie Choi won the No. 2 singles match 6-3, 7-5. Veteran Salma Dessouki also won the No. 5 singles match 6-4, 6-4.
