Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

BLUES BLANK THUNDERBIRDS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team recorded their fourth win of the 2021 season downing the Algoma Thunderbirds 2-0 on Saturday, October 23 at Varsity Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED: In a half dominated by the Blues, it was first-year forward Hannah Harkin who made the difference. Harkin would open the scoring early in the first half as fellow first-year forward Anne Yeomans' through ball would set the winger up on the breakaway (12'). As the half progressed, it was off third-year midfielder Siena Porth's corner that Harkin would find her fifth of the season and second of the game (34').

The Blues would continue their dominance in the second half. Although the Blues would record seven chances in the second half, it would be Harkin's two goals from the first that would separate the two teams.

UP NEXT: The Blues will play replay the Thunderbirds tomorrow Sunday, October 24 at Varsity Stadium. Kick off is set for 12 p.m.
