The University of Toronto recognized 29 Varsity Blues student-athletes with Silver T awards on Friday, March 27, 2020.
Â
The prestigious Silver T is awarded to Bronze T holders in their graduating year for outstanding athletic performance.
Â
In years past, the awards were handed out at the annual President's Reception, however, the University of Toronto campuses are closed as we play our part to ensure the health and wellbeing of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
Â
Nevertheless, U of T President Meric Gertler understands and values the exceptional accomplishments and contributions of these U of T students to the Varsity Blues program.
Â
"During such extraordinary times, it is important that we continue to recognize the excellent dedication and accomplishments of our students," said Gertler. "These 29 student-athletes have each garnered the University of Toronto Silver T—an honour bestowed upon those, in their graduating year, who have exhibited truly outstanding athletic performance. Since I am unable to do so in person, I would like to offer virtual congratulations to all of you and to thank you for your celebrated contributions to the University of Toronto. Congratulations!"
