The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team recorded their first victory of the New Year, besting the Waterloo Warriors 55-54 on January 17 in Waterloo.
 
TORONTO STATS: Nada Radonjic and Ellen Ougrinov were the only two Blues in double figures, as they scored 18 and 15 points respectively. Six of Ougrinov's 15 points came from three-point range. Ougrinov also scored the decisive free throw which secured Toronto the victory.
 
Along with her 18 points, Radonjic co-led the team in rebounds along with Sarah Bennett, both notching up seven over the course of the game.
 
Mikhaela Ekwandja was effective off the bench, as she tallied up three assists to lead the team in that category.
 
Jasmine Lambert also impressed, recording six points, three rebounds and three steals.
 
UP NEXT: The Blues host the Ryerson Rams this Saturday, January 18. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
