BADOVINAC LEADS BLUES IN COME BACK DRAW

Third-year midfielder Miranda Badovinac scored two goals in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team to a 2-2 come-from-behind tie versus the Queen's Gaels on Sunday, September 8 at Varsity Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Gaels scored the first two goals of the game just six minutes apart as strikers Jenna Matsukubo and Cecilia Way gave the visiting team a 2-0 lead just before the half. Badovinac then stepped up in a big way, receiving a nice pass from fifth-year striker Jenny Wolever to get the Blues on the board in the 50th minute and then netted the equalizer off a nice header in the 62nd minute.

Blues goalkeeper Levanna Staggolis posted four saves in the draw.

UP NEXT: The Blues return to action next Friday, September 13 at 6 p.m., when they host the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks at Varsity Stadium.
