The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team tied the OUA and U SPORTS defending champion Ottawa Gee-Gees 1-1 in their 2019 home opener on Saturday, September 7 at Varsity Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Gee-Gees got on the board first in the 28th minute with a goal from forward Mikayla Morton. The Blues answered back with a goal from midfielder Miranda Badovinac in the 36th minute.

Veteran goalkeeper Levanta Staggolis made seven saves to keep the game tied and secure the point for the Blues.

UP NEXT: The Blues are back in action tomorrow (Sept 8) at 1 p.m., when they host the Queen's Gaels at Varsity Stadium.
