The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's tennis team defeated the Brock Badgers 7-0 in the first regular season match on Saturday, September 10 at the UTSC tennis courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Co-captains and third-year veterans Mara Stroe and Samara Qaedizadeh teamed up to take the No. 1 doubles point then respectively won at No. 1 and 2 singles. In doubles their serve and rush tactic handcuffed their opponents as they cruised to an 8-2 win.

Singles play wins were recorded by rookies Mahak Khurmi and Pia Jhattu as well as veterans, Adelaida Allakhverdiyeva  and Alex Boone.

In doubles wins were recorded by Khurmi and Jhattu at the No. 2 spots and at No. 3 Kim Lai and Salma Desouki.
