The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team edged the Ryerson Rams 3-2 in exhibition action on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 14) at Mattamy Athletic Centre.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED: Trailing 1-0 after the first period, third-year forward Adrianna Noble evened the game as she found the back of the net on the powerplay. Fifth-year veteran Jessica Robichaud gave the Blues the lead five minutes later and Toronto was up 2-1 after 40 minutes of action.
Â
Second-year forward Avery Henry put the Blues up by two in the third frame, but the Rams answered back as Erika Crouse scored to bring it back within one with three minutes to go. That was all that Ryerson could muster as the Blues came away with the win.
Third-year netminder Madeline Albert made 18 saves in the win.Â
Â
UP NEXT: The Blues continue their pre-season schedule next Friday, September 20 as they host the Western Mustangs at Varsity Arena. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
