The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team tied the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks 1-1 on Friday, September 13 at Varsity Stadium as defences on both sides held strong.
HOW IT HAPPENED: A hard fought, defensive first half saw just five shots on goal and thirteen fouls between the Ridgebacks and the Blues.
The second half saw immediate action as a Ridgebacks set piece broke the draw (Fadi Salback - 54'). The lead would not last long as Blues midfielder Atchu Sivananthan immediately responded with a goal of his own (55').
In the 75
th minute the match was canceled due to severe weather.
Veteran goalkeeper Sebastian Sgarbossa made three saves to secure the point for the Blues.
UP NEXT: The Blues are back in action Sunday (Sept 15) at 2:15 p.m., when they host the Nipissing Lakers at Varsity Stadium.
