The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 23-25, 23-25) decision to the York Lions on Friday, February 22 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

PLAYOFF PICTURE: The loss spoils Toronto's hopes of hosting an OUA quarter-final. The Blues will finish third in the OUA East and travel for the first round of the playoffs next Saturday.

TORONTO STATS: Rookie standout Evan Falardeau led all players with 21 points off of 17 kills, three aces and one block. Three other Blues reached double-digits points on the night.

Chris Towe notched 13 points off of 11 kills, one block and one ace, while veteran middle Austin Valjas had 11.5 points off of seven kills, 3.5 blocks and one ace. Nick Trewern also recorded 11 points off of nine kills and two aces.

Third-year setter Jordan Figueira tallied 42 assists, while Daniel Tudor had a game-high 14 digs in the loss.

UP NEXT: The Blues wrap up the regular season hosting the Nipissing Lakers tomorrow night (Feb. 23) at Goldring Centre. Opening serve is scheduled for 8 p.m.
