The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team dropped a 53-42 decision to the No. 5 Ryerson Rams on Friday night (Feb. 1) in their annual Shoot for the Cure game at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
TORONTO STATS: Third-year forward Nada Radonjic led the Blues with 10 points and five boards, while rookie forward Jessica Muha notched eight points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal on the night.
Charlotte Collyer tallied seven points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal, with sophomore guard Samantha Robertson adding seven points, four rebounds and two steals in the loss.
SHOOT FOR THE CURE: Junior Blues gymnastics put on their annual halftime performance after raising over $1,100 at their bake sale last week. Varsity Blues women's hockey goalie coach Dave Wakabayashi, as well as current women's basketball player Sara Knowles and her cousins, Mila K Lemay and Leah, all cut their hair in support of the cause at halftime.
UP NEXT: The Blues travel to Sudbury, Ont., next Friday, February 8 to take on the Laurentian Voyageurs. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
