The Varsity Blues women's basketball team defeated the defending national champion McMaster Marauders, 76-66, on Saturday night (Nov. 30) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
The win marks Toronto's first over McMaster since Nov. 6, 2010.Â
TORONTO STATS:Â Nada Radonjic led the Blues with a season-high 22 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks to secure her second double-double of the season.
Radonjic was followed by fourth-year forward Sarah Bennett, who recorded 15 points, 14 rebounds and an assist and third-year guard, Samantha Robertson who notched a season-high 15 points, three rebounds and two assists.
Second-year University of Victoria transfer Ellen Ougrinov found the basket five times for 11 points and added five rebounds and an assist, while first-year forward Nakeisha Ekwandja tacked on eight points, two rebounds and an assist.
First-year guard Sara Cumby ended the night with three points, two rebounds and an assist. Third-year guard Christine Jurcau had two points, four assists and three rebounds in the win.
