The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's water polo team topped the McMaster Marauders 16-4 in semi-final action at the 2019 OUA championship on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 30) in London, Ont.
With the win, the three-time reigning champion Blues advance to tomorrow's OUA gold-medal match at 1 p.m. Toronto will meet the Carleton Ravens, who topped the Queen's Gaels 11-5 in the other semifinal of the day.
FROM HEAD COACH TUNA TALI: "It's been a tough season for us, losing eight or nine players from last year and having some players join the team only three months ago. We had some good harmony between the rookies and the seniors today and they pulled off the win so I'm very happy with that".
TORONTO STATS: Bruno Marunica led the Blues with four goals, while Patrick Conn netted three on the day. Diego Gonzales Delgado, Stefan Mitic, Alexander Geiger and Antonios Giannatis each scored twice, with Harrison Young adding a single tally in the win.
