The No. 9 nationally-ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team came away with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 25-27, 25-23) victory over the No. 10 Guelph Gryphons on Sunday night (Nov. 24) in Guelph, Ont.
With the win, the Blues improve to 7-1 and remain atop the OUA East division heading into the December exam break.
HOW IT HAPPENED: All four sets were back-and-forth affairs, with neither team holding more than a three-point advantage, with the exception of Toronto's 25-20 second-set victory.
TORONTO STATS: Fifth-year left side hitter Chris Towe led all players with 21 points off of 15 kills, four aces and two blocks, while also recording eight digs on the night.
Sophomore standout Evan Falardeau added 15 points off of 12 kills, two blocks and one ace, while rookie middle Jasper Neale had 10 points off of seven kills and three blocks.
Fourth-year setter Jordan Figueira tallied 36 assists and a game-high 14 digs, while libero Daniel Tudor had 12 digs in the win.
UP NEXT: The Blues are back in action in the New Year as they head to Montreal for a tournament hosted by the Carabins, January 3-5.
