BLUES LATE COMEBACK FALLS SHORT IN KINGSTON

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team fell to a narrow 83-76 defeat to the No. 7 nationally-ranked Queen's Gaels on Friday evening (Nov. 22) in Kingston.

TORONTO STATS:  The Blues started the game brightly by winning the first quarter 18-17, but the Gaels dominated the rest of the game, as they outscored the Blues in both the second and third quarters. Toronto responded late in the fourth and narrowed the deficit to five points, but the Gaels held out for their sixth victory of the season.
 
Fourth-year forward Sarah Bennett scored 20 points and recorded eight rebounds to lead the team in both categories. Ellen Ougrinov also impressed in scoring, notching 17 points, including nine points from three-point range. Ougrinov also distributed the ball well, leading the team with five assists.
 
 UP NEXT: The Blues head to Oshawa, Ont., to take on the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks tomorrow (Nov. 23). Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
