Fourth-year forward Sarah Bennett led the Varsity Blues women's basketball team with 19 points as the Blues secured their first win of the 2019-20 season versus the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, 55-54 on Saturday night (Nov. 23) in Oshawa.
TORONTO STATS:Â Bennett coupled her 19 points with 14 rebounds and a steal for her second double double of the season.
Nada Radonjic's complete performance saw the fourth-year forward record 16 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks, while second year University of Victoria transfer, Ellen Ougrinov found the basket five times for eight points, adding three rebounds and two assists on the night. Third-year guard Samantha Robertson added fives points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal in the win.
Rookie Nakeisha Ekwandja, second-year Fiorella Granda and third-year Christine Jurcau all ended the night with two points each. Rookie Sara Cumby went one-for-two from the charity line to end the night with one point.
UP NEXT:Â The Blues head to take on the Ryerson Rams this Wednesday (Nov. 27). Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
