Fourth-year forward Sarah Bennett recorded a game-high 18 points but the Varsity Blues women's basketball team fell 52-47 to the York Lions at U of T's community day game on Friday afternoon (Nov. 15) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
TORONTO STATS: Bennett went 6-for-19 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line, while adding three rebounds, two assists and one steal on the day.
Sophomore guard Ellen Ougrinov also reached double-digits with 12 points and had a team-high four steals as well, while rookie standout Nakeisha Ekwandja led the Blues with nine boards. Third-year guard Christine Jurcau added seven points, three steals and two assists in the loss.
UP NEXT: The Blues head to Hamilton, Ont., to take on the McMaster Marauders tomorrow (Nov. 16). Tip off is scheduled for 12 p.m.
