The No. 4 nationally-ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team blanked the Lakehead Thunderwolves 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-20) in their 2019-20 home opener on Sunday, October 27 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
TORONTO STATS: Fifth-year middle Anna Licht led the Blues with 13.5 points off of 10 kills, one ace and two solo blocks.
Fifth-year right side hitter Alina Dormann and fifth-year left side hitter Caleigh Cruickshank both looked in midseason form. Dormann racked up 11 points, 10 kills and one block in her second game of the season, while Cruickshank put up eight points, four kills and nine digs in the contest.
Both Jenna Woock and Mia Workman recorded six points on the day. Woock had five kills and three digs and Workman notched four kills, one ace and two digs on the day.
Rookie setter Lidya Canturk tallied 19 assists and 12 digs, while second-year setter Hayley Goodwin had 12 assists and two digs.
Fifth-year libero Asli Ersozoglu recorded a team-high 16 digs.
