The No. 6 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team hosts their home opener this Saturday, October 26 when they take on the Windsor Lancers at Varsity Arena.

The Blues started their 2019-20 regular season, with wins over the Queen's Gaels and the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. They look to finish the road trip with another win on Wednesday morning (Oct 23) as they take on the Ryerson Rams at 11:00 a.m.

The Lancers are 0-2 on the season, losing their first two games to the Brock Badgers and York Lions this past weekend.

Toronto is riding an 11-game winning streak against Windsor, dating back to Nov 16, 2014.

Rookie forward Natasha Athanasakos is currently leading the league in goals and co-shares the point lead, recording three goals and one assist in her first two games. She was also named Varsity Blues athlete of the week for her efforts.

Madeline Albert got the start in Toronto's first two games and recorded a 0.50 goals against average (GAA) and a .977 save percentage (SV%). This places her second in the league in both categories.

Lancers third-year goalie Jaydlin Spooner holds a 2.53 GAA and .909 SV% through two games.
