The University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team hosts the No. 5 Guelph Gryphons in their 2019 regular season finale this Saturday, October 19 at Varsity Stadium.
Kick off is set for 1 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale
here. The game will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.
The Blues (2-5) will look to end their season on a high note following a tough loss to the York Lions in the 50th annual Red and Blue Bowl last Friday night. The Gryphons (5-2) are in a three-way tie for second place in the OUA standings.
Fourth-year pivot Clay Sequeira continues to lead all U SPORTS quarterbacks in total passing attempts (270), passing yards (2,316), yards per game (330.9) and touchdowns (21). He needs one more major to break the U of T football record for most passing touchdowns in a single season, set by former NFL'er Dan Feraday in the 1981 season.
Third-year receivers Nolan Lovegrove and Will Corby continue to sit atop the OUA leaderboard. Lovegrove leads all players in receiving yards (637), yards per game (91.0) and touchdowns (7), while Corby ranks first in yards per catch (21.7) and second in receiving yards (630), yards per game (90.0) and touchdowns (6).
Defensively, fifth-year linebacker Damoy Robinson leads the Blues and ranks third in the OUA with 44 tackles. 2019 CFL draftee Malcolm Campbell has racked up 35.5 tackles and ranks second in the nation with 6.5 sacks in seven games.
